Metaphor Found Poem Exercise from Maddie Nicol

Your Touch Is Like

Like wind, through the
green leaves of a
Cottonwood tree.

Like the feeling of 71
on my skin,
when I'm going on 75.

Like running through a
sprinkler, on a hot summer's
day, invigorating.

Like living in a hurricane, where
you get swept up in the excitement,
and forget how to live.

Like being in a pinball
machine, and I don't know if i'm
blinking points, or ready to shoot
straight down the drain.

Your touch is impossible to forget.
